The purpose of the bracing is to hold the chimney against wind load and to prevent damage from static and sliding snow

Up to 4' above the roof requires no bracing

From 5' to 10' above the roof 1 roof brace kit should be used, at a midpoint on the chimney

Over 10' use 1 roof brace kit 4' from the roof and 1 roof brace kit every 5' thereafter
